There is a silent productivity killer in many organisations today. It doesn’t announce itself with chaos. It arrives disguised as rigour. It starts with a sharp, solid, high-intent plan. And then - slowly, almost innocently - the detailing begins.
A few clarifications.
A few scenario charts.
A few more documents for alignment.
A few more comments for “better clarity.”
Before anyone realises, the plan has gained more weight than the actual work it was designed to drive.
This is the over-planning trap.
It feels responsible.
It feels thorough.

3. Freeze Zones
Used in aviation, consulting, and product sprints. Once execution starts, no new inputs unless something breaks. This avoids the mid-path “just one more change” spiral.
4. Iteration > Perfection
Reid Hoffman said: “If you’re not embarrassed by your first version, you launched too late.” The best teams operate like scientists: hypothesis → test → refine → ship again.
Perfectionists try to solve for the perfect hypothesis. Performers solve for the perfect feedback loop.
